This morning we honor the loss of what I believe is an American Goldfinch, Carduelis tristis, who, on this twelfth day of the fifth month at approximately 8:45AM on New Hampshire Route 101 eastbound bravely gave his life for reasons I have not yet been able to determine. In honor of his sacrifice, I have donated $25 to the National Audubon Society.
